Izzy's Meals of Thursday, February 22, 2012

You may notice the absence of meat in these meals.  I am a vegetarian, although the rest of my family eats meat, (lesser so in comparison to many).

  • Breakfast:

For breakfast I ate a bowl of Multi Grain Cheerios (with half a banana), a piece of toast with natural peanut butter, and a cup of Earl Grey tea.  The bread is made locally, (Northfield Falls, VT).  The honey and milk I put in my tea are both products of Vermont.

  •  Lunch:

Although I ate this meal at home over break, this is what I typically bring to school during the week, (hence, the smoothie in a jar).  For lunch I had a peanut butter granola wrap, along with a clementine and a smoothie.  My mom makes our granola, sweetening it with the maple syrup my family made last spring.  I made the smoothie using frozen strawberries from our garden, and organic yogurt also local (in Westfield, Vermont).

  • Dinner:

This evening I ate a pasta dish with homemade pesto (from our own basil and garlic with Cabot cheese), broccoli, and sundried tomatoes.  With it I had garlic bread (baked at Stewart's bakery in Vermont), and a spinach salad with my mom's homemade vinaigrette.

Izzy Moody Self Introduction

Hi, my name is Izzy Moody.  I am 15 years old, and am in ninth grade at Mt. Abe High School.  One of my favorite things to do is read, which I do whenever I can.  I also enjoy skiing with my family (no matter how little snow we have), and taking piano lessons.  I love both listening and playing music, and play the tenor saxophone in my school jazz band.  This is my second year taking French, which is definitely one of my favorite subjects in school.  I work picking fruits, vegetables, and weeding at a local organic farm during the summertime, and have a passion for good food.

I’ve never hosted an exchange student before, and am so looking forward to this new experience.  I can’t wait to meet everyone in person, and until then hope to get to know people a little through this blog!

Kevin's Three Sunday Meals

Breakfast on Sunday was bigger than normal, and was also very good. It was a big egg omelette made with local eggs, onions, and cheese. Other ingredients included peppers and orange juice.

Lunch was a big sandwich that had local ham, cheese, and spinach. Other ingredients included mayonnaise and mustard.
Unfortunately I did not take a picture of my dinner, but it had local potatoes, ham, and cheese. Tasty!!
